How does Invisalign work?

Starting with your complimentary initial consultation, the Bethesda Chevy Chase Dental Invisalign technology renders a 3-D view of your teeth. The computer generated image projects a virtual treatment plan, showing the number of alignments necessary to straighten your teeth. The Invisalign brace is comprised of a durable medical grade plastic. It is designed to move teeth incrementally through each phase of the teeth realignment treatment.

How long does Invisalign take to correct and straighten my teeth?

Depending on the results of your Invisalign consultation, you will wear a series of aligners for different time spans. Aligners are worn in a series of 10-15 days or until it is time for a new aligner. Treatment takes between six and 12 months for completion.

Invisalign vs. Metal Braces

Invisalign® Bethesda Chevy Chase Dental Out Straightens Metal Braces

Metal braces were once the ultimate treatment used to straighten teeth. Today, Invisalign® is a groundbreaking orthodontics technology. Compared with traditional metal and wire braces, Invisalign® Bethesda Chevy Chase Dental offers a wealth of advantages:

Almost Invisible

Most dental patients prefer Invisalign® to traditional orthodontics for several reasons. Mainly, as the name implies, Invisalign® is transparent, made of durable medical grade plastic and not as obvious as metal braces. At Invisalign®Bethesda Chevy Chase Dental, we custom fit a series of clear aligners to reposition your teeth. The almost invisible aligners are molded to gradually straighten your teeth into a beautiful smile.

Better Oral Hygiene

Invisalign vs. Metal Braces
Both these people are straightening their teeth.
The one one the right is using invisalign.
Keeping your teeth free of plaque, particles and tooth decay is quite easy with Invisalign®. Dissimilar to metal braces—where food is prone to become trapped in the bands or metal, Invisalign® is not comprised of any heavy hardware. The custom molded aligners are removable and simplify oral hygiene. In the end, Invisalign®Bethesda Chevy Chase Dental offers straighter teeth while it:
  • Prevents periodontal disease
  • Eliminates plaque buildup
  • Reduces tooth decay
There's no need to worry about triggering other dental problems. Metal braces have a reputation for intensifying TMJ, promoting other chewing difficulties and speech impediments. Straightening your teeth with the Invisalign® technology does not aggravate other dental complications. With traditional orthodontics, certain foods are restricted; however, the Invisalign®Bethesda Chevy Chase Dental technology lets you eat whatever you please. More importantly, the Invisalign® Bethesda Chevy Chase Dental technology does not disrupt your life.

Comfortable and Secure

Compared to metal braces, the underlying benefit of Invisalign®Bethesda Chevy Chase Dental is the comfort level. Completely wire-, rubber band- and metal—free, patients experience less dental irritation and require fewer adjustments or dental appointments. And at Bethesda Chevy Chase Dental Invisalign, our 3-D computer technology shows how your teeth will look after treatment—presenting the peace of mind that you will have the straight teeth you've always wanted.
